Join us during Alumni Weekend 2013 to reunite and reminisce with fellow alumni at affinity events, which highlight your identity, previous student involvement, and/or interest in areas such as:

6-9 pm Multicultural Alumni Reception

Join members of GW's multicultural alumni communities for a networking reception with drinks and light hors d'oeuvres provided. Hosted by: GW’s multicultural alumni groups - the Asian Alumni Association, the Black Alumni Association, and the Latino Alumni Association.

 

Friday, September 27

1-3 pm Class of 1963 50-Year Reunion & Alumni Emeriti Induction Ceremony
Marvin Center, Room 403
The Class of 1963 celebrates their 50th Reunion and their induction into the Alumni Emeriti Society. All alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago, or who are 72 years of age or older, are also invited to join the Class of 1963 for the luncheon to remember the good times at GW.

10am - 12:30 pm Masonic Temple Tour & Ritual Demonstration
House of the Temple, 1733 16th Street, NW (Shuttles provided from Marvin Center)
Join the brothers of the Colonial Lodge, No. 1821, a Masonic lodge of GW alumni, students, faculty, & staff for a tour and demonstration of (public) ritual. Tours of the historic Temple, featured in Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, will be followed by the ancient “Festive Board” ceremony. Refreshments will be served. Tour at 10 am; Ceremony and champagne toast at 11:30 am

11 am– 1 pm Presidential Administrative Fellowship (PAF) Alumni Brunch
2nd Floor, School of Media and Public Affairs, 805 21st ST NW
The Presidential Administrative Fellowship (PAF) Alumni Brunch is an annual event recognizing PAF alumni, current Fellows, and the GW faculty/staff who support the program.

3-5 pm LGBT Alumni Reception
Courtyard Marriott Foggy Bottom, 515 20th Street NW, Washington, DC
This will be the seventh year that the LGBT Alumni Association hosted a reception during Alumni Weekend.  LGBT Alumni can relax during the reception with members of the community for an afternoon of drinks and hors d'oeuvres.  GW LGBT students who are 21+ are invited.   

3-5 pm Program Board Alumni Meet and Greet*
Marvin Center, Room 403
Former Program Board member's from all class years are invited to attend the inaugural Alumni event organized for PB members. This event will serve as a meet and greet for PB Alumni and will also highlight student members of PB and how the organization functions today.

4-7 pm Delta Tau Delta Alumni Open House
Delt House, 526 22nd Street (Corner of 22nd and F Streets NW)
All Delt alumni and their guests are welcome to attend this meet & greet with refreshments and food.

4-6 pm All-Athletics Alumni Reception
Colonials Club, Charles E. Smith Center
Be on hand to help us Raise High the Buff and Blue at this reception honoring all-varsity sport alumni.

4:30-6:30 pm Alumni in Energy Association Launch Reception
2nd Floor, Media and Public Affairs, 805 21st Street NW
Join the Alumni in Energy Association (AEA) at their inaugural reception. This is a great opportunity to meet the new board members, learn about opportunities to get involved, and socialize with current graduate students and professors. 

5-7 pm Black Alumni Association IMPACT Awards & Showcase
City View Room, 1957 E Street NW, Washington, DC
This event will connect Black alumni to each other as the GWBAA honors three outstanding Black alumni for their achievements.  Drinks and light hors d'oeuvres provided.

6-8 pm Sons of Pitch 10-Year Concert
Marvin Center, Betts Theater
A reunion for alumni of the Sons of Pitch men's a cappella student group. This event will also serve as the Fall Concert for Sons of Pitch (SOP).

8:30-11 pm  Greek Alumni Reunion
City View Room, 1957 E Street NW, Washington, DC
This will be the second reunion for our Greek alumni. The first reunion was in 2008.  Greek life at GW will be celebrating its 155 years of existence.  This is our main affinity event during Alumni Weekend.  We will have food and drinks as well as keynote speakers.    Additional registration fee required.

10 pm-12 am Latino Alumni Soiree
Mio Restaurant, 1110 Vermont Avenue NW,  Washington, DC 20005
Join the GW Latino Alumni Association for an evening of networking and dancing. Drinks and light hors d'oeuvres provided.

10-11:30 am Student Association Presidents Brunch with President Knapp
2nd Floor Lobby, MPA Building (805 21st Street, NW)
This informal brunch gathering makes a great opportunity for all former SA Presidents to reconnect and get acquainted with President Knapp.  Brunch and drinks will be provided as well as remarks from President Knapp.

12-2 pm Columbian Women Scholarship Lunch
City View Room, 1957 E Street NW, Washington, DC 
All GW alumni, faculty, and current students are invited to attend a luncheon to honor the 2013-2014 scholarship recipients. Attendees will also learn how they can help the scholarship committee give approximately $100K in academic awards each year.
