Join us during Alumni Weekend 2014 to reunite and reminisce with fellow alumni at affinity events, which highlight your identity, previous student involvement, and/or interest in areas such as:

1-3pm Class of 1964 50-Year Reunion & Alumni Emeriti Induction Ceremony

The Class of 1964 celebrates their 50th Reunion and their induction into the Alumni Emeriti Society.  All alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago, or who are 72 years of age or older, are also invited to join the Class of 1964 for the luncheon to remember the good times at GW.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

10am-12:30pm Masonic Temple Tour & Ritual Demonstration
House of the Temple, 1733 16th Street NW (Shuttles provided from Marvin Center)
Join the brothers of the Colonial Lodge, No. 1821, a Masonic lodge of GW alumni, students, faculty, and staff for a tour and demonstration of (public) ritual. Tours of the historic Temple, featured in Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, will be followed by the ancient “Festive Board” ceremony.  Refreshments will be served.  Tour at 10 am; Ceremony and champagne toast at 11:30 am.

12:30-1:30pm What's the Buzz All About?: GW's Honeybees
Room 205, Bell Hall, 2029 G Street NW
View the honeybee observation hive, learn from honeybee expert Professor Harmut Doebel of the Department of Biological Sciences, and enjoy honey-themed treats.  Sponsored by the Green Alumni Network.

3-5pm Community Service Reception

Join the Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service as we recognize alumni that participated in community service and service-learning programs while at GW and beyond.  Reconnect with members of Alternative Breaks, DC Reads, Civic House, engageDC (formerly the Neighbors Project), Jumpstart, The Public Service Grant Commission and more!

3-6pm WRGW 85th Anniversary Reception
Continental Ballroom, Marvin Center, 800 21st Street NW
Join GW's Student-Run Radio Station, WRGW, as it celebrates it's 85th year.  The reception will feature live performances, remarks from notable WRGW alumni, and more.  Refreshments will be served.

4-6pm All-Athletics Alumni Reception
Colonials Club, Charles E. Smith Center, 600 22nd Street NW
Be on hand to help us Raise High the Buff and Blue at this reception honoring all-varsity sport alumni.

4:30-6pm Meet & Greet with Executive Director of Sustainability Kathleen Merrigan
2nd Floor Lobby, MPA Building, 805 21st Street, NW
Kathleen Merrigan, named one of Time Magazine’s “Most Influential People in the World” in 2010, brings to GW a diverse range of experience spanning nearly 30 years in her new position as executive director of sustainability. Dr. Merrigan will make remarks about sustainability initiatives at GW at this reception with light hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Sponsored by the Green Alumni Network.

5-7pm Colonial Inauguration (CI) 25th Anniversary Reception

A reception recognizing the 25th Anniversary of the Colonial Inauguration (orientation) program.

5-7:30pm Presidential Administrative Fellowship (PAF) 25th Anniversary Reception
City View Room, 1957 E Street NW
The Presidential Administrative Fellowship (PAF) 25th Anniversary Celebration will recognize PAF alumni, current Fellows, and the GW faculty/staff who support the program.

7-10pm  A Celebration of Diversity

Join fellow alumni for this celebration, co-hosted by the Asian, Black, Latino, and LGBT alumni associations.  This inaugural event will include a dinner program with remarks from key alumni as well as opportunities to connect with fellow alumni.  Additional registration fee required.

This informal brunch gathering makes a great opportunity for all former Residence Hall Association council members to reconnect and get acquainted with current students involved in the Residence Hall Association.  Brunch and drinks will be provided.

10-11:30am Student Association Presidents Brunch with President Knapp

This informal brunch gathering makes a great opportunity for all former SA Presidents to reconnect and get acquainted with President Knapp.  Brunch and drinks will be provided as well as remarks from President Knapp.

12-2pm Columbian Women Scholarship Lunch

All GW alumni, faculty, and current students are invited to attend a luncheon to honor the 2014-2015 scholarship recipients.  Attendees will also learn how they can help the scholarship committee give approximately $100K in academic awards each year.
