These turbulent economic times have affected many members of the alumni community. As a GW graduate you are entitled to free lifetime membership in the GW Alumni Association, and access to the programs, services, and connections provided through the association. This includes the below career services, networking resources, and related events.

How Do I Become a Freelance Writer?

A former staff writer for Congressional Quarterly, Marc Leepson, CCAS BA '67, MA '71, has been a full-time freelance writer since 1986. He has written for many publications, including the Washington Post, New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the Encyclopedia Americana. He has been a columnist and an editor for The VVA Veteran, the magazine published by Vietnam Veterans of America, since 1986.

The 2009 Women's Leadership Conference will address women's issues such as taking charge of your own success, effective communication and writing skills, negotiating self-worth, and gaining personal and career opportunities from professional, nonprofit, and social organizations within the context of stepping up to leadership. The conference celebrates women who have taken leadership roles. By listening to their strengths we will find our own ways to step up to leadership.

Demystifying the Global Financial Crisis
Implications for the World Economy

GW Business and academic experts demystified the implications of the current financial crisis on the world economy in a panel discussion open to the GW community. The recent failures of major financial institutions and the subsequent volatility of national stock markets have raised a number of questions for managers, investors, and policy makers. The panel included experts from U.S. and international financial institutions, the public and private sectors, and academia.
