Wesley Reisser is a member of the State Department’s civil service, where he has spent the past seven years working mostly on Middle Eastern issues, first serving as the Consular Desk Officer for Israel, Egypt, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates, and then as a Desk Officer in the Office of Israel & Palestinian Affairs. While serving in Israel and Palestinian Affairs, Mr. Reisser has had a range of responsibilities including work on the peace process, human rights issues, consular issues and political-military issues between Israel and the U.S. 
 
Mr. Reisser holds a Bachelors Degree, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in International Affairs and History from The George Washington University, and a Masters Degree in Geography from the same institution that focuses on borders and peace settlements. He is completing a Ph.D. in Geography from UCLA at present. Mr. Reisser teaches several geography courses at the George Washington University including courses on political geography and energy resources. He is a regular lecturer on Middle East Geography and the Peace Process at the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute. Besides his professional work, Mr. Reisser performed and taught Ukrainian folk dance for 17 years and is the 2007 National Geography Bowl Champion.
