Introducing George Washington Today
GW's new flagship online publication, George Washington Today provides the latest headlines; in-depth articles about campus activities, academic programs and research initiatives; profiles of students, staff, alumni and faculty; and a wealth of other news and information affecting the GW community. The site also includes a multimedia section that will showcase videos and a calendar of upcoming events.
Recent stories include:
- alumnus Chris Anderson, B.S. '81, who edits Wired Magazine;
- a new book by journalism professor Steven Roberts, that follows the experiences of seven immigrant families that come to America from around the world;
- an appearance at the University by award-winning author Margaret Atwood, who taught a master class with GW students;
- an interview with GW Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Shelly Heller, who when she interviewed for her first job as a chemist 40 years ago was told women could only be secretaries, not scientists; and
- GW's Laboratory for Evolutionary Neuroanatomy, which investigates human evolution through an examination of mammal brains.
