Established in 2004, the Dinner with Alumni (DWA) program offers an opportunity for GW students to build connections with members of our alumni community and learn from their experiences. Dinner attendees share major and career interests, seek professional advice, and reflect on the GW experience. Alumni hosts represent a range of industries and interests in various stages of their career. Dinners are held during the months of October, November, March, and April, within the D.C. metro area.
Host a Dinner
Alumni play an integral role by providing guidance to the current GW students. Taking the time to meet with students will have a lasting impact on their time at GW and beyond. We encourage conversation about what you do, your career selection and progression, your major, and other campus and community activities. This is meant to be an informal networking experience. If you have initial questions or are a first-time host, contact the DWA staff coordinator.
Please keep in mind that the best dinner locations are those that are easy for GW students to access (metro-accessible) and are on the weekdays. We have a list of suggested restaurants if needed. Once there is a confirmed dinner location, the Office of Alumni Relations will market the dinner to students through a variety of channels on campus. Students apply for the dinner and are selected by our team.

Always wanted to connect with experienced GW alumni? Haven’t determined your major or career path yet? This is your opportunity to share a meal with GW alumni and fellow students! Dinners will be posted in GW HandShake and students will have an opportunity to apply. Spaces for each dinner are very limited and signing up for a dinner does not confirm your dinner placement.
