Volunteer with Undergraduate Admissions
The Office of Alumni Relations works closely with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to provide opportunities for alumni to assist in the admissions process. Alumni are the best ambassadors for the GW experience and your involvement with prospective and admitted students is extremely valuable.
Volunteers can help recruit students to apply to GW by participating in college fairs, attending local admitted student events to share your GW experience, or connecting with a local high school junior through the GW Book Award program.
Alumni volunteers who work with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions help shape the future of GW. We hope you will join these efforts and continue to help GW Raise High!
Please note: volunteer opportunities are available in areas where Admissions is strategically recruiting prospective students, which may not always be in your geographic region.
Undergraduate Admissions Volunteer Opportunities
- Admitted Student Events
-
Description: In the spring, Undergraduate Admissions transitions from trying to recruit prospective students to apply to encouraging those who applied and were admitted to attend GW. Regional admitted student events give prospective students the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the GW experience. Alumni volunteers can participate by potentially hosting the event or simply attending to welcome students, answer questions, and share their GW story. Read the full position description.
Time commitment: This opportunity will vary depending on the length of the event, but likely no more than once per academic semester.
Philanthropic commitment: All GW alumni volunteers are expected to participate in annual giving at GW by making a gift at a level of individual comfort.
