Events Information
Health and Safety
The health and well-being of GW students, alumni, friends, faculty, and staff remains a top priority for GW and all alumni events will proceed in compliance with all state, local, and public health guidelines.
By registering and attending GW events you voluntarily understand, acknowledge, and assume the potential risks related to possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus, including illness, injury or death as a result of the COVID-19 virus. You understand that there may be additional requirements in place at the event, and you agree to adhere to those requirements.
It is recommended that all event attendees be fully vaccinated. Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative COVID-19 test is no longer required to attend GW events. Masks may be required indoors.
Visitors coming to GW’s campuses and facilities are not required to demonstrate proof of a COVID-19 vaccination and booster. In addition, visitors and guests at indoor events in GW venues (Smith Center, Lisner Auditorium, Jack Morton Auditorium, etc.) are no longer required to verify full vaccination against COVID-19, except where expressly stated. Masks are required at all times for all patrons inside GW venues unless actively eating or drinking. Our Medical Advisory Group will continue to utilize the latest available to evaluate and adjust health and safety policies as local and national conditions evolve. Please check the specific event's website for detailed information. Updated FAQs about visitor requirements are available here.
The Office of Alumni Relations will follow all guidelines created by the university, and adjust accordingly should those guidelines change.
The Office of Alumni Relations will adhere to GW's health and safety policies, CDC guidelines, state and local restrictions, and any venue-specific requirements. This may include but is not limited to capacity limits, social-distancing rules, indoor mask requirements, etc. We also understand that the situation around COVID-19 is evolving, and restrictions and guidelines may change. When the status of an event or requirements for participants change, registered participants will be informed via updated registration pages and emails when applicable.
