Shared Identity and Interest Communities bring GW alumni together through common experiences, interests, and perspectives. Open to all alumni, these communities create opportunities for connection, celebration, and engagement across the diverse and dynamic GW alumni network.
Current Networks
- GW Asian and Pacific Islander Alumni
The GW Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Alumni Community engages GW alumni of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian origin/descent and helps connect them with the university and one another through meaningful and relevant events and programming.
- GW Black Alumni Community
GW Black Alumni Community engages Black alumni through meaningful events and programs that celebrate connection, leadership, and lifelong involvement. Through these gatherings, GWBA builds relationships among alumni, strengthens ties with current students, and fosters continued support for the broader GW community.

- GW Latino Alumni Community
The GW Latino Alumni Community brings alumni together through events that celebrate culture, foster connection, and strengthen ties to the university. Through in-person and virtual programming, the network creates meaningful opportunities for Latino alumni to stay engaged with GW and with one another.
- GW LGBTQ+ Alumni Community
The GW LGBTQ+ Alumni Community fosters community among LGBTQIA alumni and allies through inclusive events and programming. The network offers opportunities to connect, celebrate identity, and stay engaged with GW and the broader alumni community.
- GW Naval ROTC Alumni Network
The GW Naval ROTC Alumni Network fosters camaraderie among active duty, retired, and former Navy and Marine Corps officers commissioned through GW’s NROTC and V-12 programs, as well as former battalion members, staff, and supporters of the GW NROTC mission by providing an informal space for alumni to connect with past, present, and future Naval leaders.
- GW Military and Veteran Alumni Community
The GW Military and Veteran Alumni Community provides a welcoming space for alumni with military backgrounds to connect, share experiences, and support one another and current students. This community brings together veterans, active duty service members, reservists, and military family members who share a connection to GW and a commitment to service. Through events and programming, the network fosters camaraderie and lifelong engagement with the university.
