Thanks to Jason Katz, GWSB BBA '13, and Julie Douglas, CCAS BA '13, for sharing their story!
Jason and Julie met the first weekend of senior year at a mutual friend's 21st birthday party. Julie immediately recognized Jason as one of the "Katz Twins" and they talked until the bar closed. Just a few months later, Jason met Julie's family for the first time after her University Singers concert in Georgetown. They went to dinner at a Thai restaurant; Jason ate a Thai chili by accident but tried to play it cool.
After graduating in May 2013, they both moved to New York City to begin their careers - Jason's in information technology and Julie’s in marketing. They spent a lot of time on the bus traveling to each other's apartments before deciding to move in together in March 2016.
Jason and Julie share a passion for traveling. They have been lucky enough to visit places near and far like Argentina, Miami, Israel, and - on Labor Day 2017 - the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York. During their visit to the most beautiful winery in the region, Jason proposed to Julie, with flowers, wine, and a sunset cruise to follow.
Jason and Julie got married in October 2018 in New City, New York. They danced the night away with family and friends, including many GW alumni.
