Columbian College of Arts & Sciences

George Washington University’s Columbian College of Arts & Sciences (CCAS) is offering Dean’s Awards, providing a tuition discount of approximately 20%, to current and recently dismissed members of the federal workforce who are now considering seeking an advanced degree. Qualified applicants must complete an admissions application for fall 2025 enrollment, including proof of federal civil service employment or affected status. CCAS will also provide an application fee waiver to qualified applicants.

CCAS is accepting applications beyond the normal fall 2025 admissions deadlines in most Master’s Degree and Graduate Certificate programs, as well as programs in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy & Public Administration, the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design, the School of Media & Public Affairs, and the new degree programs in Applied Psychology and Quantitative Social Sciences.

College of Professional Studies

The George Washington College of Professional Studies (CPS) is offering a 20% tuition discount for current and prospective students impacted by downsizing in 2025. Eligible individuals must apply and complete an admissions application to register for the Summer or Fall semester by December 31, 2025 and provide a copy of a dismissal letter from an agency or a copy of an email dismissal from the agency with .gov email.

The 20% tuition discount applies to the following undergraduate and master’s degree programs:

GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) is offering a scholarship for 20% off tuition for current and recently displaced federal professionals and contractors applying to select programs for the Fall 2025 semester. Qualified applicants must complete an admissions application for fall 2025 enrollment by June 1, 2025, including proof of federal civil service employment or affected status.

GW School of Business

The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) is offering a 20% tuition discount to former federal workers and contractors interested in pursuing an advanced degree. Qualified applicants must complete an admissions application by June 1, 2025, including proof of dismissal from federal civil service employment or from an organization contracted to provide services to the federal government. In addition, they are waiving the application fee for those applying to start a master’s degree in the 2025-2026 academic year.

School of Nursing

The George Washington University School of Nursing (SON) is offering a 50% tuition discount to former federal workers and contractors interested in an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Any prospective students must complete their application by July 1st, 2026 to be eligible for the discounted rate.

Milken Institute School of Public Health

The Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University (GW) is offering a guaranteed 50% tuition scholarship specifically for current and transitioning federal professionals applying to the next available cohort of the MPH@GW program. 

This scholarship is available to current and recently separated federal civilian employees and contractors. Admitted students who wish to be considered for the Federal Service Scholarship will be required to provide proof of federal employment or affected status to verify scholarship eligibility.
